PM meets Digicel CEO on expanded telecommunications investment

Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) the Honourable Mark Phillips met with Digicel Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Marcelo Cataldo, at the Office of the Prime Minister on Camp Street today to discuss the company’s ongoing investment programme in Guyana.

Accompanying Mr. Cataldo were Digicel Guyana CEO, Mr. Deonarine Gopal, and Digicel Group Communications Director, Ms. Ana Rua. Director of the Telecommunications Agency (Ag), Mr. Chrissammy Christmah, was also present.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Phillips was briefed on Digicel’s continued commitment to expanding and diversifying its operations across the country, with particular focus on extending telecommunications coverage to hinterland communities.

The discussions highlighted the company’s plans to improve connectivity, supporting national development and providing enhanced communication services to underserved areas.
