McCalmont, Hooper-Clarke to represent Guyana at Kids Athletics Workshop in Peru

Towanna McCalmont and Natrena Hooper-Clarke will represent the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) at the upcoming ‘Train to Teach’ Kids Athletics Workshop in Peru from October 7 to 9.

The workshop, designed for children aged 4 to 14, focuses on developing fundamental physical skills and integrating comprehensive physical education programmes within schools.

Amanda Hermonstine, President of the Athletics Association of Guyana, expressed her support for the representatives, wishing them a successful experience that would benefit the growth of athletics in Guyana.

McCalmont shared her aspirations for the workshop, stating she hopes to gain insights into effective kids’ athletics programmes and explore ways to engage more children in sports while fostering a sustainable framework to nurture young talent.

Both representatives departed for Peru on October 5.
