CANU seizes 66.8 kg of cocaine at CJIA

The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) intercepted 66.8 kilograms of suspected cocaine at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) on Saturday, authorities confirmed.

Acting on intelligence, CANU officers intercepted 53 parcels intended for shipment on a KLM flight to Amsterdam. One person was arrested and taken to CANU Headquarters along with the narcotics. The suspected cocaine was weighed at CANU HQ, confirming the total quantity.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing as authorities work to identify other individuals involved in the operation.
