The Ramlall sisters, along with Kassidy Woolford, combined for an impressive 73 points to lead Guyana to a 91–72 victory over Suriname during the Georgetown Women’s Classic at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).

This match, supported by the Government of Guyana and organisations such as AdNation and Creative Titans, marked a significant return of senior women’s international basketball to Guyana after many years.

Sixteen-year-old Amisha Ramlall was a standout on the court, scoring a game-high 31 points, while her twin sister, Ashna, contributed 20 points. Woolford added another 12 points, while Arshia Ramlall played a crucial role as floor general, scoring 11 points and providing key assists.

Guyana took an early lead, finishing the first quarter ahead 20–10, and maintained their momentum by outscoring Suriname 31–20 in the second quarter, resulting in a 51–33 half-time lead.

Despite Suriname adjusting in the second half, they struggled to keep pace with Guyana, who held a 73–55 lead heading into the final quarter, effectively putting the game beyond doubt well before the final buzzer.

For Suriname, Mirelva Marica was the standout with 20 points, but the team could not match Guyana’s scoring prowess.
