Police sergeant arrested, SOCU seizes records in Springlands licensing office probe

A Police Sergeant is under close arrest after SOCU ranks descended on the Licensing and Certifying Office at the Springlands Police Station on Thursday, seizing records as part of a corruption investigation.
Ranks from the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) visited the office on Thursday, August 13, where relevant records and documentation were secured for detailed examination. The sergeant is now assisting investigators with the ongoing probe.
Investigators are conducting a comprehensive examination of the office’s operations, including relevant records and transactions.
The Force said it maintains a zero-tolerance approach to corruption, misconduct and breaches of public trust, and that any rank found culpable of criminal or disciplinary wrongdoing will be dealt with in accordance with the law and its disciplinary procedures.
The investigation is ongoing, with further information to be provided as it becomes available.
