General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C), Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo said the party has a plan to uplift every region in Guyana.
Speaking at his weekly press conference at Freedom House yesterday, Dr. Jagdeo outlined a number of developmental plans, targeting specific regions across the country.
“Region 10 has its own comprehensive plan. We have area specific plans for each region of our country,” he noted.
The PPP General Secretary further spoke of plans for development in Region Two, which he noted was highlighted during a public meeting in the region.
He cited the construction of a four-lane road from Charity to Supenaam, business incubator, innovation hub, and technical centre as part of the plan.
Dr. Jagdeo also outlined plans to release approximately five thousand acres of land for small farmers in Region Two outside of the Aurora area.
He said residents in Pomeroon are expected to benefit from the release of land.
These, he noted, are planned in addition to developments like safer communities and direct assistance from the state to construct and improve homes– a promise which he noted is for all across the country.
Dr. Jagdeo further outlined plans to assist in reducing the burdens of rising cost of living.
“People are appreciative of these things that they will get, outside of the support that they will get for safer communities, the general things that we talk about” he noted.
