The victorious Cropper Primary School team

Cropper Primary School delivered an outstanding performance to clinch the Champion of Champions title at the Future Warriors Tapeball Tournament, which concluded on Saturday at the National Stadium in Providence.
The national finals featured the three county champions—Cropper Primary (Berbice), Grove Primary (Demerara), and C.V. Nunes Primary (Essequibo)—competing for the coveted title. Cropper Primary emerged as the clear dominant force, winning both of their matches and showcasing the depth of youth cricket talent in Guyana.
In their opening match against C.V. Nunes Primary, Cropper posted a formidable total of 117 runs without loss, led by Jayden Garner’s remarkable 66 not out off just 22 balls. He was ably supported by Anthony Fagelal, who contributed an unbeaten 37.
In response, C.V. Nunes struggled, managing only 53 for 4, with Kaysean Doodnauth top-scoring with 19. Cropper’s Khusal Seepaul shone with the ball, claiming three wickets for just six runs.
Cropper maintained their dominant form in the second match against Grove Primary, scoring 93 for 3. Fagelal again impressed with 48 runs, while Tejpaul Persaud added a rapid 24.
In another fixture, C.V. Nunes posted an imposing 122 without loss against Grove, with Zach Madholall (41*) and Vidal Narine (39*) leading the way. Grove replied with a spirited effort, including 26 from Wayne Green, but ultimately fell short, finishing at 75 for 6.
As champions, Cropper Primary will now enjoy the exciting opportunity to play against the Guyana Amazon Warriors in a special exhibition match during the Caribbean Premier League’s home leg, scheduled for September 6–14.
