A post-mortem examination has confirmed that 24-year-old businessman Joshua Eric Taylor died from blunt trauma to the head, with no evidence of gunshot wounds or strangulation, contrary to erroneous reports in some media outlets.

The autopsy was conducted earlier today at the Georgetown Public Hospital’s Mortuary by government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh. According to Dr. Singh, the blunt trauma may have resulted from either a fall or a blow. He also noted the presence of brain swelling, which could potentially be linked to drug use. A sample was taken for toxicological testing to determine whether substances were involved.

The body was identified by Taylor’s mother, 51-year-old businesswoman Annette Taylor, and his brother, 27-year-old businessman Alec Taylor. The post-mortem was witnessed by a Detective Woman Sergeant and a Senior Superintendent of Police. The body has since been released to the family for burial or cremation.

According to a key civilian witness, Taylor was attempting to climb a seven-foot-high iron gate when his pants leg reportedly got caught, causing him to fall into the yard of his aunt, Sabrina. He is believed to have landed on his head but quickly got back up. Blood was later seen on his forehead.

Investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided to the media as they become available.
