
Guyana returned to glory at the 2025 Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Junior Championships in the Cayman Islands, winning the boys’, girls’, and overall team titles over the weekend.
This victory marks Guyana’s first overall title since their 2022 win.
Throughout the tournament, the Guyanese team showcased exceptional skill and resilience, overcoming tough competition in the finals. The boys’ team defeated Trinidad and Tobago in a closely contested match, winning 6-3 in matches while the girls’ team, led by Emily Fung-A-Fatt, secured a decisive 4-2 victory over Barbados.
Individually, the tournament highlighted several standout performances, including the mixed doubles team of Louis Da Silva and Avery Arjoon, who came back from triple match point down to win gold against Barbados. Both players also secured golds in their respective individual categories, along with Kaylee Lowe (Under-15) and Alexis Arjoon (Under-11). The team also earned silver medals in various age groups and bronze in both boys’ and girls’ doubles.
The return of experienced coach Carl Ince has contributed to the team’s success, leading to a significant improvement in their performance.
