Senior Minister in the Office of the President with Responsibility for Finance and Public Service, Dr. Ashni Singh, has asserted that all sectors of Guyana are ripe for investment and that the country is open for business.

He was at the time addressing members of Jamaica’s Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce (MIIC) and the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), which concluded their fourth Business Ministerial Mission to Guyana today.

Dr. Singh called for more Jamaican businesses to invest in Guyana, pointing out that there is significant growth potential here.

“Our objective right now as a government is to maintain a framework where this growth continues… maintain high levels of economic growth, and we are poised to realise that certainly for the next five years and very likely beyond. Not only in the oil sector but also in the non-oil sectors of the economy as well. Our objective is to make sure that we maintain competitiveness in Guyana across all sectors,” he stressed.

Dr. Singh added that the framework is set to attract investment in every sector and continues to focus on expanding traditional sectors.

The government, he said, will ensure that Guyanese are benefiting from the country’s transformation and are able to collaborate with international companies to pursue business and investment opportunities.

“We see now increasingly, several international and regional companies coming to Guyana, entering strategic joint ventures with Guyanese companies, and coming out of those, being able to participate. There literally isn’t a sector that isn’t ripe with opportunity in Guyana,” Dr. Singh said.

Guyana is witnessing tremendous expansion across the economy and continues to invest to see long-term advancements.

The Jamacan delegation included 23 companies across multiple sectors, seeking to engage, connect, and pursue business development opportunities with Guyana.

The mission, titled “Doing Business in Guyana,” commenced with a welcome session hosted at the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Georgetown yesterday and wrapped up today.
