The Government of Guyana has secured the services of Leonard Mc Coshen, a distinguished retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), to assist in the investigation into the death of Adrianna Younge.

According to a Home Affairs Ministry release, the move is in keeping with a promise made by President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali to ensure a thorough investigation into the matter.

Mc Coshen is a trained and qualified homicide and suspicious death investigator with over 30 years of experience in law enforcement. He spent 20 of those years attached to the Serious Crimes Branch (SCB) within the Major Crimes Unit (MCU), where he was responsible for handling serious, complex, and sensitive cases, including homicides and deaths involving suspected foul play.

The release noted that Mc Coshen has successfully supervised and coordinated more than 200 investigations involving homicides, kidnappings, and other serious crimes.

The government said he brings a wealth of training, expertise, and experience to the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Younge’s death.
