Contractor busted with 61 grams of marijuana

Khemraj Lall, a 31-year-old contractor, was arrested after 62 grams of marijuana were found in his possession, stuffed in Pringles containers.

Lall was apprehended by Kevin Chester, a security guard attached to the Aurora Gold Mines. According to a police report, the incident occurred around 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Zin Jin AGM Inc., situated along the Cuyuni River in Essequibo.

The report noted that Chester observed Lall carrying four bags. Upon examining the bags, he found three Pringles tins. These were opened and revealed bulky varieties of seeds and leaves suspected to be cannabis. Upon further investigation, another tin contained a second parcel wrapped in transparent plastic, which held more of the suspected narcotic.

After the discovery, Chester questioned Lall about the narcotics, to which Lall reportedly admitted ownership. Chester then contacted his supervisor, Winston Adams, to seek guidance on how to handle the situation. Chester proceeded to weigh both parcels in Lall’s presence, determining the total weight to be 61.2 grams.

At approximately 12:15 PM on Tuesday, police arrived and made an official arrest of Lall. He is slated to be charged with “Possession of Narcotics.”
