Patrick Prashad has been crowned champion of the National Turf Golf League (NTFGL) Tour #2 after a commanding final-round performance on Sunday secured him the overall title.
The finale, sponsored by PromoTech and Danny’s Auto Sales, brought the tour to a close with golfers competing for valuable points as the standings went down to the wire.
Prashad carded a net 67 to finish first on the day, collecting eight points and topping the overall Tour #2 standings with 24 points to claim the championship.
Arnold Deo, returning to action, carded a net 69 to finish second and collect five points. He also won the front nine, adding two points to his tally.
Pantanjilee Persaud placed third for three points, while Ian Gouveia finished fourth after winning the back-nine tiebreaker to collect four points.
Anand Persaud rounded out the top five, taking one point after winning a tiebreaker against Joseph Szeplaki. Both players finished with a net 74, but Szeplaki dropped out of the top five after carding a seven on the 18th hole.
In the overall Tour #2 standings, Prashad finished on top with 24 points, followed by Per Persaud on 22 points and Anand Persaud on 19 points. Danny placed fourth with 18 points, while Pops completed the top five with 17 points. A total of 16 players registered points across the tour.
A club tournament was also held on Saturday, won by Prashad with a net 67 and best gross of 79. Deo finished second with a net 69, while Gouveia placed third with a net 73. Deo took the longest-drive prize, while Mahin Harry was nearest to the pin.
The NTFGL thanked PromoTech and Danny’s Auto Sales for their sponsorship and continued support of the event.
