Deeds registry services launched in Region 10

Lindeners at the launch

The Attorney General’s Chambers and Ministry of Legal Affairs, in collaboration with the Deeds and Commercial Registries Authority (DCRA), today launched DCRA services in Linden, marking the first time residents of Region 10 can access the entity’s services in their region.

An office space has been identified at a convenient location in the township, and advertisements will soon be published inviting persons from Region 10 to apply for posts at the new office.

The initiative is part of a commitment by President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali to establish DCRA offices in all outlying regions.

Residents at the launch praised the move and, during an interactive session with Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Mohabir Anil Nandlall, pledged to make full use of the services.

In brief remarks, Nandlall outlined the functions of the DCRA and the services it will offer, noting that the new office would eliminate the need for residents to travel to Georgetown at high cost and inconvenience.

“One of the core objectives of our Government is to extend all services available in the urban centres of Guyana to every region of the country in order to make the lives of our citizens better wheresoever they are located,” Nandlall said.

The Attorney General was accompanied by the Registrars of Deeds and Commerce, staff of the DCRA, the Attorney General’s Chambers and Ministry of Legal Affairs, and the Office of the Public Trustee. Former APNU Member of Parliament Jermaine Figueria also attended and offered brief remarks.
