Devina Persaud's transport company delivers to interior locations, and she wants it noticed. She is hoping a small business expo in Georgetown on Saturday and Sunday will help.

The expo, at the Railway Courtyard, is part of National Small Business Week 2026, which also includes business-development workshops. Admission is free.
Persaud's company provides drivers and vehicles to meet customers' needs, including delivery to the interior.

"I'm hoping to get recognised by government and other small businesses because I mostly cater to Guyanese. So I'm hoping to be noticed more," she said.

Exposure is the common goal among participating entrepreneurs. Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) President Kathy Smith said the initiative helps emerging enterprises showcase their services, reach wider markets and explore opportunities for growth.

Bonade Twashe, owner of Blenards Marketing Agency, is returning for a second time. His agency offers digital marketing, video production, visual content and application development. It has added services since his last attendance, and he now hopes to network on a larger scale.

"This time around I'm hoping to meet the 'big guns,' like I used to say. There are many things that we are doing that is not out there, so that is why I want to use the opportunity to reach out," Twashe said.

Dave Azo of CAPI Consulting Engineers, which provides civil engineering and structural design services, is attending for the first time.

"This is the very first time. And I'm very happy to be here. It will actually help the company to expand this network and also gain some exposure," Azo said.
The company has been operating for about two years and is also seeking financing to support its growth, he added.
