The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) is pushing for greater collaboration among local companies to take advantage of Guyana’s growing economic opportunities, encouraging businesses to build stronger networks, exchange ideas and explore partnerships that can support their growth.
The call was underscored at the Chamber’s President’s Reception, held on October 9, 2026, at the GCCI Boardroom, where businesses that recently joined the organisation were welcomed and introduced to its services and benefits.
The reception was led by GCCI Senior Vice President Gavin Ramsoondar, alongside Vice Chairperson of the Membership Committee, Onecia Johnson, who engaged attendees on opportunities available through the Chamber.
The gathering provided a platform for entrepreneurs and business representatives to establish connections, discuss shared interests and identify potential areas for collaboration across industries.
As Guyana’s economy continues to expand, stronger partnerships among local businesses could help improve competitiveness, strengthen capabilities and position companies to benefit from emerging opportunities across the country.
The GCCI continues to encourage greater private-sector participation and cooperation, emphasising the importance of businesses working together to achieve sustainable growth.
Foreign investors, including those from the United States, have also urged Guyanese companies to build their capacity to compete effectively, highlighting the need to consistently deliver quality services and operate at scale.
