India and the West Indies have shared the honours in their five-match T20 International series after rain forced the abandonment of Saturday’s decisive match in Bengaluru, leaving the teams tied 2-2.
The fifth T20I at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium was reduced to nine overs per side following a delayed start, but persistent rain returned before India could complete their innings.
After winning the toss and electing to field, the West Indies made an early breakthrough when Keemo Paul dismissed Abhishek Sharma for six.
Ishan Kishan then provided the early fireworks, smashing 30 runs off just 10 balls to lift India’s scoring rate.
Naman Dhir added a late burst with 24 runs off six deliveries as the hosts raced to 118 for five in 7.4 overs.
However, the rain returned before the innings could be completed, and conditions did not improve enough for play to resume.
Match officials eventually abandoned the contest, denying both sides a chance to claim the series outright.
For India, the washout preserves their unbeaten record in home T20I bilateral series since 2019, while the West Indies will take positives from a competitive series against the hosts.
