Shakeel Babb claimed the Junior Men’s Bodybuilding title, while fellow Guyanese Jonathan Jeffrey earned silver at Sunday’s Mr. Universe Bodybuilding Classic in Medellín, Colombia.

Competing at an event that drew more than 200 athletes from across the world, Babb overcame a strong field to secure gold for Guyana.

Jeffrey finished second in the Men’s Physique category for competitors up to 174 cm tall. His silver followed a gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Championships, adding to his international medal haul.

Guyana ended the competition with two podium finishes through Babb and Jeffrey.
