Smyth Street Strikers retained their title in the Ministry of Education’s Unit of Allied Arts Annual Interdepartmental Tapeball T10 Cricket Competition.

The team defeated 21 Warriors by eight wickets in the final on Friday at the Queen’s College Ground.

The competition, held as part of the Ministry’s Education Month activities, brought together six teams in a day of cricket, teamwork and camaraderie.

Smyth Street made a strong statement in their opening match, defeating National Center for Education Resources Development (NCERD) Titans by 165 runs, before advancing to the final. The 21 Warriors reached the championship match after a nine-wicket victory over The Invincibles UAA/Exams in the semi-final.

Kristan Reid of 21 Warriors led the tournament in runs with 105, while Smyth Street’s Aliasha Lambert claimed the most wickets with five. Javon Cush recorded the highest individual score, while Teriq David took the most catches. Toagri Canerberry was named best wicketkeeper and Ciara earned the award for Best Female Player.

The Invincibles UAA/Exams finished third.

The event provided staff from across the Ministry’s departments and units with an opportunity to showcase their cricketing skills while promoting wellness, sportsmanship, physical activity and staff engagement.
