BritCham Guyana will welcome a UK trade delegation and host its flagship Gala Dinner in Georgetown for the first time on November 25, as part of a week-long celebration of growing UK-Guyana business ties.

The move follows successful BritCham Guyana events at Lord's Cricket Ground in London in 2024 and Chelsea Football Club in 2025, with the Chamber bringing its main annual gathering home this year to coincide with Guyana's 60th anniversary of independence.

Set to take place at the newly opened Four Points by Sheraton, the Gala Dinner will bring together BritCham members, business leaders, investors, partners, suppliers, customers, government and diplomatic stakeholders, the Guyanese diaspora, and friends and family from Guyana, the UK and further afield.

The evening will form the centrepiece of a wider BritCham Guyana Week, with a supporting itinerary of business, networking and engagement activities designed to strengthen ties between the two countries and showcase opportunities across Guyana's economy.

Meanwhile, BritCham partner The Caribbean Council is organising the UK trade delegation, giving British businesses an opportunity to visit the market, establish relationships and explore commercial opportunities firsthand. A limited number of places remain available for interested UK companies.

Speaking on the milestone, BritCham Guyana Chairman Faizal Khan said it felt fitting that, in Guyana's 60th anniversary year, the Chamber's flagship event would come home for the first time, after taking Guyana to London through its events at Lord's and Chelsea FC.

"This will be much more than one evening. We want to create a week that brings together our members, partners, customers, suppliers, friends, families and diaspora, while welcoming a new group of British companies to Guyana to see the opportunities here for themselves," Khan said.

He added that BritCham's purpose has always been about building practical bridges between Guyana and the UK, and that November would be an opportunity to celebrate how far that relationship has come, while focusing on what can be built together next.
