Competition returns to the Lusignan Golf Club on Sunday as golfers battle for top honours in the SBM Offshore Guyana Golf Tournament.
Tee-off is scheduled for 8 a.m., with players competing in a medal-play format across the club’s greens and fairways.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers, while golfers will also compete for best gross score, longest drive and nearest-to-the-pin honours.
With several prizes available, the tournament is expected to attract golfers of varying experience levels for a competitive, but social, day on the course.
Food and drinks will also be available for players and supporters throughout the event.
The tournament comes as the Lusignan Golf Club continues working to improve its course and create more opportunities for local golfers to test their skills.
Regular competitions at the club allow established players to remain active while giving developing golfers experience in a tournament setting.
Sunday’s event is also expected to support the club’s wider efforts to build interest in the sport and strengthen Guyana’s golfing community.
Tournament sponsor SBM Offshore Guyana is part of the global SBM Offshore group, which specialises in floating production, storage and offloading vessels used in the offshore oil and gas industry.
The company has become a major participant in Guyana’s energy sector while supporting local community and sporting initiatives.
Registration remains open, and interested golfers are being encouraged to secure their places ahead of Sunday morning’s start.
