Demerara Bank customers can now open accounts, apply for loans, pay bills and transfer money without completing physical forms or visiting a branch.
The bank launched its new Mobile Banking App and upgraded Online Banking platform Saturday, giving customers access to a wider range of services from their phones, tablets and computers.
Users can transfer money between Demerara Bank accounts and to other local banks, submit wire-transfer requests and receive updates as transactions are processed.
They can also pay bills for services including Guyana Water Incorporated, E-Networks, Digicel, One Communications, the Guyana Revenue Authority, the Institute of Private Enterprise Development and the New Building Society.
The platform allows customers to apply for car and housing loans, credit cards and new accounts, and track their applications online.
Other features include recurring payments, saved payment templates, appointment bookings and the ability to block or unblock a credit card. Customers can sign in using biometric or facial authentication.
Demerara Bank is holding a launch-day session at its Beterverwagting branch until 6 p.m.
Customers can take their mobile devices and receive assistance with registration and live demonstrations.
Similar sessions will be taken to other branches over the coming weeks. Customers who cannot attend can access instructional videos and registration guidance through the bank’s online Learning Hub.
