Several kilometres of major community roads in Kuru Kuru, along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway, have been upgraded to concrete, marking a significant improvement in access and infrastructure for residents.
The road works form part of a wider push to transform communities along the highway.
During a recent engagement in Kuru Kuru on Saturday, President Dr. Irfaan Ali listened to residents’ concerns and provided updates on ongoing and planned development.
Discussions also focused on upgrading the community’s learning centre and recreational ground, including a pavilion, fencing and improved facilities for cricket, football and basketball.
Support for agriculture and better access to water were also raised as priorities, while youth development remained a key part of the engagement.
Beyond Kuru Kuru, development along the corridor is gathering pace. At Soesdyke Junction, a new roundabout is being advanced to connect the Good Success-to-Timehri road project with the Soesdyke-Linden Highway, improving links between the East Bank, the highway and the hinterland.
The wider area is also earmarked for housing, commercial activity and major developments, including Silica City, positioning the Soesdyke-Linden corridor for continued growth.
