
We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) Member of Parliament Natasha Singh has been released on $200,000 cash bail while a man remains in Police custody, police said, as investigators continue probing the discovery of a firearm and ammunition.
According to police, investigators contacted Singh at about 09:00hrs on Wednesday and informed her of the alleged offence of possession of a firearm and ammunition without a licence. She was cautioned and, acting on the advice of her attorney, provided a written statement.
Shane Fordyce remains in custody after being contacted later that morning, at about 10:58hrs, and informed of the same alleged offence. He was cautioned and also provided a written statement after consulting his attorney.
Another WIN MP, Dawn Hastings-Williams, was interviewed at Regional Police Division 4 ‘B’ Headquarters, where she provided a statement and handed over a copy of Firearm Licence No. 191501, dated February 16, for a Glock 19 9mm pistol bearing serial number BBVD168, police said.
The firearm, magazine and ammunition were taken to the Ballistics Section at Eve Leary, where they were lodged for safekeeping, police said, noting that the motor car involved in the investigation also remains lodged.
Police said a case file is being prepared for legal advice.
