Banks DIH Limited has announced its sponsorship of the ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL) 2026, backing one of the region’s fastest-growing cricket tournaments with its premium XM Rum brand.
The third edition of the tournament is scheduled to run from July 23 to August 1 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, where five elite T20 franchise teams will compete for a US$1 million prize pool.
Sales and Marketing Executive Lee Baptiste said the company was proud to associate its brand with the tournament.
“We at Banks DIH could not be more proud to have our name and our products associated with what has quickly become one of the most exciting events on the international cricket calendar,” he said.
GSL Communications and PR Lead Avenash Ramzan said the partnership aligned with the tournament’s “Super We” campaign, which speaks to the cultural significance of cricket in Guyana.
“Cricket is much more than a game of bat and ball. It is a unifying force,” he said.
Banks DIH Communications Executive Sonya Forrester said the company’s longstanding connection to Guyanese culture made the partnership a natural fit.
“Cricket and Banks DIH have something in common, we are both woven into the fabric of Guyanese life. For over 70 years, Banks DIH has been part of the celebrations, the gatherings, and the proud moments that define who we are as a people,” she said.
GSL Chairman Sir Clive Lloyd welcomed the sponsorship, saying support from corporate Guyana remained vital to the tournament’s growth and international appeal. He said the league continued to provide an opportunity to showcase Guyana’s culture and potential to a global audience.
This year’s competition will feature defending champions Guyana Amazon Warriors alongside Lahore Qalandars, Desert Vipers, Perth Scorchers XI and San Francisco Unicorns.
Banks DIH said its investment reflected confidence in Guyana’s growing profile as a hub for international sport, tourism and business.
