Police in Linden are investigating the fatal stabbing of 23-year-old labourer Tafawa Alexander during an altercation at Lovers Lane, Amelia’s Ward, on Sunday evening, authorities said.
Alexander, of Scheme Hill, Wismar, was allegedly stabbed several times by a 38-year-old man from Central Amelia’s Ward at about 18:07 hrs, according to preliminary police investigations.
He was taken to the Mackenzie Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said wounds were found to Alexander’s upper left chest, left upper arm and the left side of his head.
The suspect was arrested and remains in police custody. Investigators also recovered a knife believed to have been used in the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
