A push to position Guyana’s wedding industry as a growing creative and tourism investment sector has taken shape with the launch of a new expo in Georgetown.
Seishonen Guyana, sponsored by Muneshwers Events, unveiled “Land of Many Loves” at Fresh Cafe, with the two-day wedding expo set for September 26-27.
Co-founder and Head of Marketing and Public Relations Juliana Lopes said the initiative is designed to deliver an immersive experience for couples, while strengthening the local wedding sector and highlighting creatives, content creators and related industries.
She said three couples will be selected through a social media campaign beginning May 11, with winners receiving a fully curated wedding experience showcasing Guyana’s cultural diversity.
Lopes welcomed the removal of the 14-day residency requirement for destination weddings, abolished by the government in January 2026, saying it has created new opportunities for growth in the tourism and wedding sectors.
She added that Guyanese couples will also be featured in a limited episodic series, “Guyanese Love Seek”, produced by Fusion Creative Studio and sponsored by Muneshwers Events, exploring relationships, intimacy and marriage.
Lopes said Seishonen Guyana is seeking stronger partnerships with public and private sector stakeholders to further develop the industry as a sustainable economic opportunity.
