Vidish Persaud captured top honours in a tightly contested finish at the National Top Flight Golf League (NTFGL) Tour #2, edging Rohan Albert on a third-level tiebreaker after both players finished on identical net scores of 70 at the Lusignan Golf Club.
Persaud secured victory with a composed closing stretch, playing the final three holes two-under-par to overtake Albert, who finished level over the same span. Albert settled for second place after a strong overall performance.
Spencer Hutchings claimed third place with a net 73, followed by Mohanall Dinanuath, also on net 73, in fourth. Anand Persaud rounded out the top five.
The opening round of Tour #2 delivered competitive scoring and a dramatic finish under favourable course conditions, with several players posting standout performances across both nines.
Patanjilee “Per” Persaud set an early tone with a front-nine net 35, while Hutchings produced the best back-nine score of the day with a net 33, strengthening his position on the leaderboard heading into the final stretch.
Season standings after the opening round see Vidish Persaud leading with eight points, followed by Rohan Albert and Spencer Hutchings tied on five points each. Patanjilee “Per” Persaud and Santo sit on two points apiece, while Anand Persaud has one point.
Organisers said the strong turnout and competitive field underscored the growing profile of the NTFGL, supported by Promotech Guyana Inc. and Danny Auto Sales, as the tour continues to build momentum in the new season.
