A total of 289,565 persons have now received their $100,000 cash grants, with 265,281 of them doing so directly through personal bank accounts.
Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr Ashni Singh, said this method remains the most convenient for citizens and reflects the ease with which transactions are completed.

“This number (265,281) is impressive… it reflects how easily persons can access the benefits if they have a bank account and use online and digital technologies,” the minister said.
He noted that special provisions have been made for persons living in hinterland and riverine communities where banking services are less readily available.
He also assured that all Guyanese will receive their cash grants, but warned of a lengthier process for persons without bank accounts.
“You will receive your cash grant, but it will take a little longer because we have to go through a registration process or take other measures to have your cash grant paid to you.”
The Minister urged citizens to open bank accounts where possible to receive direct transfers and to register through the cashgrant.gov.gy app to ensure receipt of their funds.
