West Ruimveldt Secondary hoping to win Massy U-18 football title

Leon Bishop

West Ruimveldt Secondary School is hoping to win this year’s Massy Under-18 School Football tournament after finishing third in last year’s competition, head coach Leon Bishop said.

Bishop said the team has stepped up its preparation and believes the squad has the quality to go all the way, citing a strong run of performances in recent matches.

“We have shown that we have the quality to go on and win,” Bishop said, noting that additional work had been put in following last year’s third-place finish.

He added that last year’s semifinal defeat to the eventual champions remains a motivating factor for the squad, with players determined to go all the way in 2026.
West Ruimveldt will face Santa Rosa Secondary in their semifinal clash on Saturday at the Queen’s College ground.
