Guyana’s youth 3×3 basketball team has arrived in Panama City ahead of the 2026 South American Youth Games, where the squad will compete against regional opponents in the continental tournament.
The team comprises Daniel Chisholm, Jaden Simon, Kadeem Beckles and Stephan Duke, and is set to open its campaign on April 23 against Brazil before facing hosts Panama later the same day. Group-stage fixtures conclude with a match against Venezuela, with qualification for the medal rounds as the target.
The South American Youth Games, taking place from April 12 to 25, feature more than 2,000 athletes from 15 countries competing across multiple sports, including 3×3 basketball.
Guyana Basketball Federation President Michael Singh expressed gratitude to the Guyana Olympic Association for its support, noting that the country last participated in the event in 2017.
Singh said the federation’s focus on 3×3 development was beginning to yield results, pointing to increased exposure at regional and international multi-sport events and the importance of competitive experience for young players.
