PAS Guyana Inc. has taken a major step forward in transforming the country’s logistics landscape with the opening of its first-of-its-kind off-port bonded warehouse facility along the Rome on the Heroes Highway corridor.
The new facility is designed to address one of the most persistent challenges in Guyana’s shipping and logistics sector: cargo congestion and delays at traditional port locations. With its modern infrastructure, dock-height design, and streamlined layout, PAS Guyana is positioning itself as a leader in efficient, customer-focused cargo handling.
Speaking at the launch, Vice President Sridat Narine emphasised that the investment reflects a deliberate shift towards improving speed, reliability, and overall service delivery in a rapidly expanding economy.
“This is more than just a facility; it is a game-changer,” Narine said, adding: “We are offering a one-stop shop where customers can move seamlessly from documentation to customs clearance to cargo collection, all in a single location.”
The warehouse offers secure access, ample space for heavy-duty trucking, and a fully weather-protected environment—features that directly respond to longstanding concerns within the sector. By relocating operations away from congested river ports, PAS Guyana aims to significantly reduce turnaround times and operational bottlenecks.
President of the Guyana Customs Brokers Association, Colin Moore, welcomed the development, noting that efficiency gains are already evident.
“There’s nothing more pleasing than being able to get in and out within 30 minutes. That level of efficiency is something the industry has needed for a long time,” Moore said.
PAS Guyana’s growth has been underpinned by strong regional and international partnerships, as well as continuous investment in technology. Its logistics platform integrates barcode processing and RFID tracking, allowing for improved transparency and cargo visibility.
The company also announced the upcoming launch of its MyPAS mobile app, which will enable customers to track shipments, upload documents, and manage cargo directly from their devices.
The company’s expansion is supported by its wider network through PAS Cargo USA and global freight alliances, connecting operations across more than 190 countries. This positions PAS Guyana to serve not only local demand but also the growing needs of the oil and gas, commercial, and industrial sectors.
PAS Guyana says the new facility signals its long-term commitment to raising industry standards and delivering world-class logistics solutions.
