Guyana’s Private Sector Commission is pushing to strengthen business ties with France, including proposals for French visa applications to be processed in Guyana and for Air France to introduce flights to the country.
PSC Chairman Gerry Gouveia Jr. raised the issues during talks with Nicolas Forissier, France’s Minister of Trade, at the Business France Forum on Latin American Investment in Paris.
While there, Gouveia also signed two memorandums of understanding aimed at expanding trade and investment opportunities between French companies and the Guyanese private sector.
The agreements were signed with Movement of the Enterprises of France, a major business lobby representing more than 125 thousand small and medium-sized companies, and the French Foreign Trade Advisors network.
More than 300 international investors attended the forum, where Guyana’s investment potential was promoted.
Gouveia is expected to hold further meetings as the PSC continues pushing for greater air links, investment, and business partnerships between Guyana and France.
