
Patrick Mahendra Singh, 46, a cane harvester, is dead and his wife hospitalized following a domestic incident in Corentyne, Berbice, police said.
The incident followed an argument with his wife, Olive Thompson, 47, a ten-day worker of Amerindian descent, at their home in Lot 667, No. 76 Housing Scheme.
Police said Thompson was reportedly stabbed during the dispute and ran into the yard with blood on her body. She was taken to the No. 75 Regional Hospital in serious condition and remains in the Intensive Care Unit, with her condition now listed as stable.
Authorities reported that Singh was last seen holding a knife and a bottle with a substance before leaving the home on a motorcycle. Police conducted searches for him before his body was later found at No. 76 Village, Corentyne.
Police are investigating the incident.
