Local Tech entrepreneur and Chevening alumn President Amrita Naraine is positioning Guyana at the forefront of creative technology with the launch of Artellica AI, an innovation studio aimed at transforming how local businesses and creators engage with emerging technologies.
Naraine, who holds a Master’s degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence for Creative Industries with a specialisation in Creative Computing and Robotics, said the venture was initially created to support the creative sector but has since expanded in scope. In January, Artellica AI officially became a distributor for AI robotics and wearable technologies, giving Guyanese industries access to advanced hardware previously unavailable on the local market.
Beyond distribution, Artellica operates as a specialised consultancy, leading interdisciplinary research and development projects focused on AI-powered software creation, ethical automation and intellectual property systems. The studio also works with cultural ministries, non-governmental organisations and innovation councils to develop inclusive policy frameworks and AI governance structures that protect human expression at both the local and global levels.
Speaking on the company’s direction, Naraine said Artellica exists at “the intersection of ready-to-use innovation and custom-built excellence.”
“We offer a diverse ecosystem; while we offer ready-to-use robotics, we are equipped to produce custom, AI-powered creative technology for the Guyanese and regional market. Our result is a foundation for our creators and the business community altogether have the tools to compete, the data to grow, and the ethical framework to lead,” she said.
Marketing Executive Shakira Vieira said the company’s work is helping to reposition Guyana within the global technology space. “We are moving Guyana from being a consumer of technology to a regional hub for innovation. By bridging the gap between complex AI and local needs, we are empowering Guyanese talent on a global stage,” Vieira said.
Artellica’s initiatives also extend into education and cultural preservation through immersive workshops designed to build digital literacy and demystify advanced tools. The studio is also engaged in cultural archiving, using AI-driven systems to document and safeguard Guyanese traditions and artistic output for future generations.
A key component of its offerings is Biz Insights, a platform designed to simplify business management by allowing small business owners to securely track inventory and sales from anywhere in the world. The project is supported through a partnership with Eridani Digital Technology.
Founder of Eridani, Clifford Cheefoon, said the collaboration strengthens both companies’ shared vision. “Eridani Digital Technology is proud of our ongoing partnership with Artellica AI, aligning our commitment to technological innovation with their leadership in ethical Artificial Intelligence,” he said.
By combining high-tech hardware with accessible, locally relevant software, Artellica AI is emerging as a central player in Guyana’s digital transformation.
