National Schools Championships set for March
President’s College after capturing the Schools Championship title last year

The National Schools Championships has been confirmed for March 11-13, according to sources familiar with the organisation of the event.
The likely venue is the National Track and Field Centre at Leonora, although this has not been officially confirmed, particularly with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport set to inaugurate the synthetic facility at Bayrock in Linden on January 31.

Last year’s reformatted Schools Championships saw President’s College win the title with 257 points, followed closely by Mackenzie High School with 253 points, and Christianburg Wismar Secondary School in third with 197 points. Fourth place went to St. Ignatius Secondary with 129 points, and fifth place to Mahaicony Secondary School with 100 points.
