Phillis Stuwart, a resident of Byer’s Senior Citizens Home on Robb Street, celebrated her 100th birthday on December 23, marking a milestone filled with faith, family, and flair.

Members of the Difficult Circumstances Unit (DCU) visited Stuwart on Monday, delivering a care package and extending birthday and Christmas greetings on behalf of the Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Hon. Dr. Vindhya Persaud.

Stuwart, who described herself as having “cat eyes,” shared stories from her life with humour and grace. She recalled attending church on Old Year’s night before dancing at Georgetown’s NPC Hall until dawn. A former hairdresser, she remains a devoted fashion enthusiast, insisting pearls are essential to her style.

She spoke fondly of her four grandchildren overseas and offered advice to younger generations: attend church, praise God, and live a joyful life.

At 100, Stuwart embodies faith, resilience, and enduring joie de vivre.
