
The 2025 KFC International School Football Tournament kicked off on Sunday with an exciting display of competitive play.
Defending champions Chase’s Academic Foundation made a strong statement by defeating the Anglican Central Education Authority Select (ACEAS) from the Bahamas 24-1 in their opening Group A match at the Queen’s College Ground. Bryan Wharton starred with nine goals, supported by Isiah Ifill’s hat-trick and contributions from several teammates.
In another thrilling match, Kingston College staged a remarkable comeback. After an early goal from Ricardo Gibbon, Kingston responded with multiple goals to secure a dramatic 6-5 victory.
At the Ministry of Education Ground, Nikiere Technical secured a solid 2-0 win over Brazil’s José Vieira de Sales Guerra State School, while St. Benedict College of Trinidad and Tobago triumphed 4-0 against Annai Secondary, highlighted by a standout performance from Jelani Stoute.
Upcoming matches on Tuesday include Kingston College vs. ACEAS and St. Benedict College vs. Nikiere Technical at Queen’s College, along with Chase facing West Ruimveldt and Guerra State School against Annai at the Ministry of Education Ground. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
