Scotiabank Guyana has been named Bank of the Year 2025 by The Banker magazine, a Financial Times publication, in recognition of strong financial performance, investment in technology, and service excellence.
The award follows an earlier 2025 recognition from Global Finance, which named Scotiabank Guyana Best Bank 2025, reinforcing its leadership in the country’s financial sector.
Nafeeza Gaffoor, Country Manager, said the award reflects the bank’s commitment to client-focused services and digital innovation.
“This recognition is a testament to our relentless focus on making banking easier, faster, and more secure for our clients. We are committed to putting clients first, leading with advice and delivering innovative, secure, and convenient banking solutions. Over the past year, we have accelerated our digital transformation through the continued introduction of innovative tools and services that empower clients to manage their finances conveniently and confidently. I am deeply grateful to our clients for their trust and to our employees for their passion and commitment to delivering a truly client-centric experience,” she said.
Key innovations driving the recognition include a redesigned mobile banking platform via the Scotia Caribbean App, upgraded online banking with one-time password protection and expanded bill payment options, online account opening for seamless onboarding, an expanded ATM network, and innovative merchant solutions, including secure payment options integrated with unmanned kiosks.
Scotiabank also earned the Bank of the Year 2025 title in the Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, and Turks & Caicos, further cementing its position as a leading regional financial institution.
