Investigation launched: Intruder enters Home Affairs Ministry and escapes

The Ministry of Home Affairs said an unknown individual unlawfully entered its building early Monday morning, prompting a security alert and police investigation.

The ministry said security personnel detected the intruder via CCTV around 04:00 hours and raised the alarm. An officer attempted to apprehend the person but was unsuccessful. The Guyana Police Force was notified immediately, and an investigation is ongoing.

The ministry added that all necessary precautions are being taken and promised further updates as more information becomes available.
