Eileen Angela Douglas, a centenarian from Stanleytown, New Amsterdam, Berbice, recently celebrated her 101st birthday, marking more than a century of resilience, devotion and service.
Ms. Douglas, known for her quiet strength and deep faith, spent much of her early life as a Domestic Worker and an active member of the Philadelphia Adventist Church. According to her family, her commitment to ministry and service shaped her journey and remained a central part of her life.
The mother of three built her foundation around family and faith. Now, at 101, she faces age-related challenges, including the loss of her vision and speech, and requires assistance to walk.
Despite these limitations, her family says her presence continues to speak volumes. She is currently cared for by her daughter, Elizabeth Sinclair, who remains dedicated to ensuring her mother’s comfort while honouring the legacy she has created over the past century.
