The Brava Guyana Open Golf Tournament, held in collaboration with the Lusignan Golf Club, concluded yesterday after two thrilling days of competition. The event kicked off on Friday evening with a vibrant cocktail reception, where Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson officially opened the tournament with a ceremonial tee-off. Minister Steven Jacobs, Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, also addressed attendees, highlighting the importance of corporate partnerships in advancing sports development.
Speaking at the opening, Hilton Wong, General Manager of Brava Guyana, expressed his delight in collaborating with the tournament committee for another year. “This is an example of our commitment and dedication to the development of the game of golf. This event also reflects the kind of well-rounded CSR initiatives Brava Guyana is proud to support and is committed to continuing into 2026 and beyond,” he said.
The tournament drew over 100 players from across the region and beyond, including participants from the USA, Canada, Barbados, and Suriname, alongside Guyana’s finest golfers. The event showcased remarkable talent and sportsmanship, fostering both regional and international camaraderie. Notably, four members of the Brava team also took to the greens, participating in the competition.
Chet Bowling, President of the Lusignan Golf Club, commended Brava Guyana for its continued support. This year’s tournament marks the fifth consecutive year of the partnership, which has helped establish the Brava Guyana Open as the largest golf tournament ever held in Guyana.
