The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has officially launched a new E-Services Portal for Aircraft Landing Permits, marking a significant milestone in the digital transformation of the nation’s aviation sector.

Developed in collaboration with the National Data Management Authority (NDMA), the platform was built entirely by Guyanese professionals — a testament to local expertise and the country’s growing technological capacity. The initiative underscores the GCAA’s commitment to modernising operations, improving interagency coordination, and delivering more efficient public services.

“We are thrilled to introduce this platform to the public. This project aligns with His Excellency’s visionary leadership and embodies our commitment to accessible and efficient public services,” said Lt. Col. (Ret’d) Egbert Field, Director General of the GCAA.

The transition from a traditional paper-based process to a digital one is expected to deliver several advantages, including faster application processing, real-time tracking, reduced administrative costs, and enhanced transparency. By minimising the use of physical documents, the system also supports environmental sustainability and better data management practices.

“This online platform will revolutionise the way we interact with the aviation sector, making it easier and faster for all stakeholders involved,” said Minister of Public Works, Hon. Deodat Indar, who holds responsibility for aviation. “By moving to a digital platform, we are achieving significant savings in resources and time. With improved processes and more accessible services, we can ensure that no matter where you live in the world, you can access our products and services.”

The GCAA said the new system is only the beginning of a broader digital transformation strategy. In the coming months, the Authority plans to roll out additional online services, including a drone application system and the digitisation of other regulatory processes.

The introduction of the E-Services Portal reflects the Government of Guyana’s wider commitment to embracing technology-driven solutions, improving service delivery, and enhancing the user experience for both local and international aviation stakeholders.
