The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and the United States Embassy’s Commercial Section have held discussions to identify new areas for collaboration aimed at strengthening private sector growth and international partnerships.
The meeting, which took place at the GCCI headquarters in Georgetown, saw both parties reaffirming their commitment to maintaining open dialogue and expanding cooperation to advance commercial and investment ties between Guyana and the United States.
Key topics discussed included support for trade missions, franchising opportunities, the creation of linkages between local health sector businesses and international companies, and participation in global trade shows.
Representing the U.S. Embassy were Senior Commercial Officer Bruce J. Ellsworth, Commercial Specialist Amanda Edmondson, and Commercial Assistant Tocoma Alexis. They met with GCCI President Kathy S. Smith, Junior Vice President Brian Edwards, and Executive Member and Immediate Past President Kester Hutson.
Both sides expressed optimism that continued collaboration will enhance business development, attract new investments, and strengthen Guyana’s position in international trade.
