The Honourable Minister of Labour and Manpower Planning, Keoma D. Griffith, is representing the Co-operative Republic of Guyana at the 20th American Regional Meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO), which began on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, and runs until Friday, October 3, 2025.
Minister Griffith is part of a delegation that includes Presidential Advisor Joseph Hamilton, Legal Officer Aleya Williams, and other officials.
The delegation is participating in high-level discussions on employment, social protection, sustainable development, and the eradication of child labour.
The ILO’s American Regional Meeting convenes government ministers, senior officials, and representatives from workers’ and employers’ organizations across the Americas to review progress on labor issues, exchange best practices, and set regional priorities.
Key topics for this year’s meeting include job creation, social protection, democratic governance, climate-resilient transitions, and the future of skills and work.
Participation in the meeting provides Guyana with the opportunity to influence regional labor policies, strengthen international partnerships, and incorporate best practices into national labor strategies to address local challenges.
