AAG meets with Minister Jacobs on track and field development

Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Steven Jacobs, met with the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) to discuss the future of track and field development in the country.

During the meeting, Minister Jacobs commended the association for its progress and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to athlete welfare and the establishment of a clear development pathway.

AAG President Amanda Hermonstine congratulated Minister Jacobs on his new role and noted the positive working relationship between the AAG, the Ministry, and the National Sports Commission (NSC). She also outlined the association’s strategic plans for athlete development.

Treasurer Dwayne Carter presented a detailed proposal for the Carifta development strategy, aimed at strengthening Guyana’s regional competitiveness.

The meeting concluded with the AAG presenting Minister Jacobs with a plaque of appreciation.
