MODEC Guyana Inc. has partnered with Seishonen Guyana to launch the Fuma School Tour and will serve as the title sponsor for FumaCon 2026, Guyana’s premier anime and comic convention.

The Fuma School Tour will reach more than 720 students across six secondary schools over six weeks, offering workshops in crafts, art, empowerment, and technology. The initiative is designed to equip young people with practical skills for careers in creative and technology-driven industries.

“MODEC is honored to partner with Seishonen Guyana to advance education and technology for the next generation,” said Rafael Fumis, Country Manager of MODEC in Guyana. “Through the Fuma School Tour and FumaCon 2026, we are excited to help bring innovative workshops and inspiring experiences to Guyanese students. By combining the spirit of Japanese creativity with a focus on technology and education, we aim to inspire young minds, foster new skills, and empower youth to thrive in a digital future.”

The school tour builds on FumaCon’s track record of organizing skills-based workshops since 2023, covering topics such as drone technology, jiujutsu, comic book creation, cultural awareness, and martial arts. Past editions have received support from the Embassies of Japan and Brazil.

Looking ahead to FumaCon’s fourth edition in 2026, Seishonen Guyana plans to expand access to skills-based learning for youth beyond the convention.

“Through these workshops, Seishonen aims to extend its reach and impact, bringing educational experiences in creativity, technology, and mental health to youth in schools, rather than limiting these opportunities to FumaCon,” said Juliana Lopes, Co-Founder of Seishonen Guyana. “This school tour is designed to empower young people with valuable skills and insights.”

Seishonen Guyana expressed gratitude to MODEC for supporting both the educational and creative potential of Guyana’s youth. With a combined focus on classroom empowerment and cultural celebration, the initiative is expected to foster innovation while strengthening Guyana’s growing creative economy
