Business app to aid networking at IBC

Participants in this year’s International Business Conference (IBC) will benefit from several initiatives, including the use of its B2B Matching app.
The conference returns to Georgetown, Guyana, for a third edition from October 14 to 16, in collaboration with the World Trade Center (WTC) Georgetown – with Guyana and Suriname taking centre stage.
The three-day event brings together business leaders, investors, policymakers, and entrepreneurs under the theme, “Bridging businesses for regional prosperity.”
Chairman of the Suriname-Guyana Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Vishnu Doerga, said the app, which was launched last year, will allow participants to start communicating with other delegates prior to the event.
“Since the first edition, the technology that we’ve employed, International Business Conference App has been an absolute hit with everyone that has utilised it. We have almost 80 per cent adoption rate and we’ve had thousands of B2B meetings scheduled. At the event itself, we have a dedicated space where Business To Business meetings occur,” Doerga said.
He added that participants become part of a network where they can get information on everyone else that is participating in the event, noting that more than half the attendees are international investors and businesses.
The conference will also feature ambassadors, ministerial, and other panels providing key information for businesses and investors.
Dr. Doerga said this year’s theme is relevant to Guyana and Suriname, as the IBC is serving as a bridge between both countries, helping companies connect with the ecosystem that exists.
He added that when both countries are positioned together as an investment opportunity, the prospects become much more attractive.
