The 2025 Hero Caribbean Premier League has reached the playoff stage, with the top four teams now preparing for a high-stakes battle to reach the final. Saint Lucia Kings, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Trinbago Knight Riders, and Antigua and Barbuda Falcons will contest the semi-finals this week, following the conclusion of the group stage.
The announcement was made during the Captains’ Press Conference held at the Guyana Marriott, where team leaders shared their thoughts on the road ahead.
Saint Lucia Kings finished at the top of the points table with 12 points from 10 matches, powered by Tim Seifert’s 337 runs at a strike rate of 145. The Guyana Amazon Warriors also secured 12 points, led by captain Shai Hope’s 372 runs and veteran spinner Imran Tahir’s 18 wickets. Warriors captain Romario Shepherd said qualifying among the top two was a major step but stressed that the real test begins now.
“You know that was one of our goals to actually qualify for us a second just to get, execution, like David also mentioned. But, also, from a psychological point of view, you know, you are the top two now, so you got to play like a top two team in the competition going into, you know, the business end because it’s all like done and dusted in the run game,” Shepherd told reporters. “So it’s just for us to take that momentum and you know, go forward.”
Trinbago Knight Riders matched the Warriors on points, anchored by Colin Munro’s 373 runs, while the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons edged into the playoffs with 11 points. Known for their attacking bowling and youthful energy, the Falcons are looking to prove themselves on the big stage.
The semi-finals, set to begin this week, will decide who advances to the championship match. With every team boasting star performers and rising talent, the knockout stage promises fierce competition as the CPL 2025 title race narrows.
