Director of Sport Steve Ninvalle will travel to Suriname on September 19 for an important meeting to prepare for the 2025 Inter Guiana Games, which will be hosted in Guyana from December 5 to 7.
According to a press release from the National Sports Commission (NSC), Ninvalle emphasised that the meeting is crucial for the effective organisation of the games.
“The Inter Guiana Games is more than just a sporting event; it is an opportunity to strengthen cultural ties, promote youth development, and showcase our young athletes’ talents. Our discussions in Suriname will focus on building upon the successes of 2024 and ensuring a successful event in December,” he said.
The meeting will also review the 2024 games held in French Guiana. Since becoming Director of Sport, Ninvalle has prioritised the development of the IGG as a platform for nurturing Guyana’s young talent.
The Guyanese delegation will include senior NSC officials who will collaborate with their counterparts from Suriname and French Guiana. The Inter Guiana Games is a multi-sport event that fosters friendship, cooperation, and regional integration among Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.
